How can we help?

FAQ's

Products, pricing & ordering

What is the price range of your gowns?

We have two main lines which sit at different price points.

The Studio Collection is our higher end offering of demi couture gowns. Prices start from $8,000.

Our Core Collection is our mainline entry level offering, with prices starting around $2,500 up to $7,500.

What size range do you offer?

Our size range is AUS 6–18 across all styles, with select designs offered up to size 24. We carry samples of each style in our Paddington boutique; however, all gowns and separates are made to order in your nearest size. Our stockists also carry a range of samples — some in sizes 10 or 12, and others, including our Paddington PJB Flagship, with a selection of size 14–18 samples.

If we don’t have a sample in your exact size, our experienced stylists will ensure you still get a clear visual and understanding of how each gown will look and fit on your body. If there is a specific style you’d like to try and you’d like to confirm what sizes we have available, please reach out to our team at sydney@preajames.com.au.

Do you offer Split Sizing?

We offer split sizing for most of our gowns, for our Studio collection, split sizing is included included in the price, however for the core collections, additional fee's will apply.

This service allows brides to order a gown with different standard sizes for the bust, waist, and hips, ensuring a closer and more personalised fit.

For example, if a bride measures 90cm in the bust, 70cm in the waist, and 103cm in the hips, she may order a bust size 10, waist size 10, and hip size 12 according to our size chart.

It’s important to note that our gowns — including those ordered in split sizes — are made to the nearest standard size, and are not made to measure.

While we have accommodated up to a 1.5-size difference in the past (for instance, a size 7 bust and size 11 waist), we prefer not to exceed a full-size jump where possible. In cases where measurements fall outside this range, we generally recommend ordering the gown in the larger size and refining the fit through alterations.

Can changes be made to the made to order collections?

All of our gowns are made to order, with a small selection of styles also available in a ready-to-wear model. Certain design adjustments are possible, with the Studio Collection offering the greatest level of flexibility, while our Core Collections allow for a more considered range of changes.

Each piece has been carefully considered and thoughtfully designed, so we generally recommend changes that refine fit rather than significantly altering the original design. Potential adjustments may include raising a neckline, adding length to a bodice, modifying or adding sleeves or straps, changing a fabric, or combining select elements such as pairing the skirt of one gown with the bodice of another. All changes incur an additional charge.

To explore what may be suitable for you, you can speak with your stylist in our Paddington Flagship or chat with your nearest stockist about any possible pattern or fit adjustments. You’re also welcome to reach out to our customer care team at hello@preajames.com.au to discuss options with one of our stylists.

Lead Times

As the majority of our gowns and separates are made to order, we recommend allowing 7–9 months before your wedding date as a comfortable timeframe. Once your order is placed, your gown is hand-cut and sewn in our Sydney Atelier. Each piece is made to order and requires a minimum lead time of 20 weeks. Additional time should then be allocated for delivery and alterations — we suggest allowing 6–8 weeks for this process.

We do offer a rush service when fabric availability and our production schedule allow. This will need to be confirmed through your local retailer. Rush fees are as follows:

  • Orders under 20 weeks but more than 8 weeks: $300 AUD

  • Orders under 8 weeks: $600 AUD

Shipping, Returns & Exchanges

We use all major carriers, and local courier partners. You’ll be asked to select a delivery method during checkout.

What is the shipping policy?

Once your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email letting you know that our fulfillment team has received your order. Once your order is fulfilled, you will receive an email notification with your tracking information. Shipping fees are non-refundable in the case of returns.

Do you ship overseas?

Yes, we ship all over the world. Shipping costs will apply, and will be added at checkout.
